Transforming Security Through Design and Innovation
As part of the award winning redevelopment of LaGuardia Airport Terminal B, CARVART partnered with the project team to deliver architectural glass solutions that elevate both the passenger experience and the functional demands of a modern transportation hub. Designed to serve as one of the primary gateways into New York City, the terminal required solutions that could support security operations while creating an open, welcoming, and visually engaging environment for travelers.
CARVART's scope included the design, engineering, fabrication, and installation of custom GRAPHICglass and glassSTACKWALL systems throughout key security and circulation areas. At the center of the project is an 18 foot tall laminated glass security wall featuring custom graphics inspired by New York State's vibrant color palette. Engineered to satisfy rigorous security requirements while maintaining transparency and natural light, the installation transforms a traditionally utilitarian element into a distinctive architectural feature. The custom glassSTACKWALL system further enhances flexibility within the TSA checkpoint, providing a movable portal solution that supports passenger flow and operational efficiency.
By combining large scale architectural glass with custom graphics, stainless steel detailing, and precision engineering, CARVART helped redefine how security infrastructure can contribute to the overall passenger experience. The result is a terminal environment that balances safety, durability, and functionality with a strong sense of place, creating a modern gateway that reflects the energy and identity of New York City.
