A Refined Arrival Experience Defined by Materiality and Detail
Located at 181 Livingston Street in Brooklyn, the Macy's Lobby transformation reimagines the arrival experience through a carefully curated blend of architectural metal, glass, and custom fabricated elements. Designed to create a bold first impression while supporting the functionality of a high traffic commercial environment, the project demonstrates CARVART's ability to integrate multiple materials and systems into a cohesive architectural statement.
At the center of the design is CARVART's Blackened Hot Rolled Steel wallCLAD system, creating a dramatic backdrop that introduces texture, depth, and sophistication to the space. Complementing the steel installation are custom curved aluminum systems that frame the grand entrance and extend seamlessly across the ceiling plane, reinforcing the architectural rhythm of the lobby. Additional scope included custom storefront systems, stainless steel beam cladding, concealed channel entries, and all glass revolving doors that contribute to a clean, modern aesthetic while supporting durability and long term performance.
Through the careful integration of architectural metalwork, glass systems, and custom fabrication, CARVART transformed the lobby into a space that balances visual impact with everyday functionality. The result is an elevated entry experience where craftsmanship, material innovation, and architectural detailing come together to create a memorable sense of arrival.
