GEORGE BUSH INTERCONTINENTAL AIRPORT

Engineering Durability for High Traffic Public Spaces

As one of the busiest airports in the United States, George Bush Intercontinental Airport requires facilities that can withstand constant use while maintaining a clean, welcoming, and highly functional environment for travelers. As part of a major restroom modernization initiative, CARVART partnered with Jacobs and Manhattan Construction to develop custom architectural glass solutions designed specifically for the demands of a transportation setting. The project focused on improving privacy, durability, maintenance efficiency, and overall user experience through innovative material applications and engineering.

CARVART's scope included custom glassBOX restroom cubicles, privacy screens, mirrors, GRAPHICglass, and COLORglass installations throughout the renovated facilities. A key challenge involved integrating restroom accessories directly onto glass cubicle systems without compromising performance or long term durability. In response, CARVART engineered a custom countersunk mounting solution capable of distributing loads while preserving the clean aesthetic of the glass enclosures. The resulting system provides superior strength, ease of maintenance, and long term reliability within a high traffic environment.

By combining custom engineering with durable architectural materials, CARVART delivered a restroom solution that balances performance, hygiene, and design. The completed installation provides travelers with a cohesive and modern experience while offering airport operators a durable, easy to maintain system built to perform for years to come.
