Developed to support the evolving needs of customers on the move, Starbucks Pickup Stores represent a new approach to retail focused on speed, convenience, and digital engagement. Located in one of New York City's busiest transit corridors, the Grand Central location was designed around a mobile first ordering experience that minimizes wait times while maintaining the welcoming atmosphere associated with the Starbucks brand. CARVART partnered with the project team to deliver architectural glass solutions that support both operational efficiency and customer experience.
Central to the project is CARVART's METALLICglass, a decorative laminated glass featuring integrated gold mesh interlayers that provide a sophisticated balance of transparency, privacy, and visual texture. The material was strategically incorporated throughout the store to create subtle separation between customer and operational areas while maintaining visibility where needed. The one way visual effect allows staff to monitor activity and manage workflows efficiently without compromising the clean, modern appearance of the space. The metallic interlayer introduces depth and refinement, elevating the retail environment beyond traditional partition systems.
By combining specialty materials with functional design requirements, CARVART helped create a retail environment that supports the fast paced nature of mobile ordering while reinforcing the premium character of the Starbucks brand.
