Designing Privacy and Durability for High Traffic Environments
As part of a major modernization effort at Newark Liberty International Airport Terminal B, CARVART partnered with Ahuja Partnership Architects to reimagine the passenger restroom experience through a combination of architectural glass, specialty materials, and custom engineered restroom systems. The project required solutions capable of meeting the demanding performance requirements of a major transportation hub while creating an environment that feels clean, secure, and welcoming for millions of travelers each year.
CARVART's scope included the design and fabrication of custom glassBOX restroom cubicles, architectural glass systems, mirrors, and specialty hardware engineered specifically for the airport environment. The fully enclosed cubicles were developed to provide greater privacy and user comfort while maintaining exceptional durability and ease of maintenance. Reinforced hardware, non porous materials, and integrated glass transoms were carefully detailed to withstand constant use, rigorous cleaning protocols, and the long term operational demands of a busy public facility. Every component was designed with both functionality and longevity in mind.
By combining engineering expertise with thoughtful architectural detailing, CARVART delivered a restroom solution that elevates the passenger experience while addressing the practical realities of a transportation setting. The result is a cohesive, modern environment that balances privacy, durability, hygiene, and design, creating a safer and more comfortable experience for travelers passing through Newark Liberty International Airport Terminal B.
