Located in the birthplace of American independence, Philadelphia International Airport continues to serve as a critical gateway connecting travelers from around the world. As part of ongoing terminal improvements, CARVART partnered with the project team to develop custom architectural glass solutions that enhance the passenger experience while meeting the rigorous performance requirements of a modern transportation environment. The project required a careful balance of aesthetics, structural integrity, and long term durability within a high traffic public setting.
A defining feature of the installation is a series of custom laminated blue glass panels engineered specifically for the terminal environment. Achieving the desired color required extensive material development and testing to ensure the glass maintained both visual consistency and transparency while meeting strict safety and structural standards. Each panel was fabricated, tempered, and laminated before being integrated with precision wrapped stainless steel detailing, creating a seamless architectural expression that elevates the surrounding space.
